The Cautionary Tale of Ebenezer Snoop
Adidas is retelling the classic holiday tale “A Christmas Carol” - but in a very Snoop way. In this story, Ebenezer Snoop has done lost his holiday spirit and three partying ghosts must help him find it. It’s a lesson we can all learn from, while getting high on the holiday spirit. As is with the tradition of many holiday classics, The Cautionary Tale of Ebenezer Snoop is Animated and it's the best 4:20 you'll have this holiday season.
The campaign launched on Black Friday with four simple teasers. All the teasers ended with #bahhumbizle to get social media channels talking about the campaign before the launch of our main piece of content on the following Monday.
Our animator is none other than the legendary J.J. Sedelmaier. With his long history of work including Beavis & Butthead, Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law, The Ambiguously Gay Duo, as well as many other TV Funhouse productions through SNL. He was without a doubt the perfect person to help us bring our holiday story to life.
Facebook App: Un-Scrooge Yourself
After consumers watch our film, they are prompted to see if they are an ‘Ebenezer’ too. Once logged in, our unique algorithm scanned users Facebook interactions with friends to determine if they were a "Scrooge" too. The algorithm looked at skipping events, not liking posts, not wishing happy birthdays and other metrics to judge each person. Ultimately, everyone was a Scrooge and Snoop would show them how to get rid of their "Bah-Hum-Bizzles."
